Spartans Return to Dominating Form, Dismantling Paul Quinn College 92–62

Round Rock, Texas · Written by Emmanuel Ramirez

The Community Christian College Texas Spartans extended their win streak to four games and remained undefeated at home with a commanding 30-point victory over Paul Quinn College. From tip-off to the final buzzer, the Spartans were all gas and no brakes, seizing control early and never relinquishing the lead.

This victory marked a complete team effort, highlighted by relentless defense and balanced offensive production. Outside of the opening score, the only tie came at 3–3 following each team’s first possession. Within two minutes, the Spartans had built a two-possession lead, setting the tone for the remainder of the contest.

Balanced Attack Fuels Early Separation

Offense came from all directions as five Spartans scored in double figures. Freshman guard Jackson Moss led all scorers with 19 points, shooting 40% from the field and an impressive 50% from beyond the arc.

Moss’s aggressive approach proved especially effective in the first half, helping the Spartans build a 19-point advantage heading into halftime. His ability to attack the interior forced Paul Quinn into foul trouble, as Moss converted nine of his 15 free-throw attempts.

Dominance on the Glass

The Spartans controlled the game on both ends of the floor, particularly on the boards. Head Coach Donald Jefferson’s squad pulled down 54 total rebounds, including 24 offensive rebounds that led to 21 second-chance points.

Amare Carter and Keyshawn Garland led the charge, crashing the glass all night with seven and eight rebounds respectively.

“Keyshawn and I, we battle to see who gets more rebounds, so it’s kind of like a competition.”

— Amare Carter

A Program Built on Growth

With the win, the Spartans completed their third program sweep of the season, defeating an opponent both on the road and at home. Accomplishing the feat in their first year speaks to the team’s preparation, mental toughness, and continued growth.

Carter credits the team’s daily commitment in practice as the driving force behind their consistency regardless of venue.

“As a collective we’re just getting better every day. I think we’re a very gritty team and we’re doing what we can to get better every single day.”

— Amare Carter

Unselfishness on Display

Throughout the season, one word continues to define the Spartans: We. Despite adversity and roster changes, the group has remained unified in pursuit of a shared goal.

Against the Tigers, that unselfishness was evident as the Spartans recorded 19 assists on 36 made baskets. Savo Cromity, who finished with four points but the second-highest rebound total, emphasized the importance of team culture at this stage of the season.

“You’re as good as your next man, and we’re building a good culture here.”

— Savo Cromity
