\nwin streak to 10 in Leander, TX and stay undefeated in the new year. Traveling all the way from
\nSan Antonio, the Lackland Warhawks posed a formidable challenge to the Spartans. Although
\nSaturday afternoon showcased one of the poorest shooting performances by the Spartans this
\nseason, they were still able to pull off the win; showing more drive and courage in the face of
\nadversity.\n<\/p>\n
\ncatch-and-shoot three from the wing off of an assist from Jamari Alexander. It seemed like the
\nSpartans\u2019 leading scorer and captain was well on his way to replicating the 28-point performance
\nhe had just days ago in San Antonio. However, the Spartans shot just 34% from the field and
\n26% from downtown while losing the turnover battle 24\u201321.\n<\/p>\n
\nto an overall record of 13\u20133. Yet the difference Saturday was in the hustle plays made and the
\nsuccess at the free throw line.\n<\/p>\nHustle Defines the Game<\/h2>\n
\nlead to 14\u20139. That\u2019s when Amare Carter flew through the air at full speed after his own miss and
\nblocked the shot away. The block rivaled a similar one he recorded later in the game with 2:55
\nleft in the second half \u2014 again erasing what appeared to be a guaranteed basket.\n<\/p>\n
\nof the best all-around performances of the season for the freshman from Round Rock, TX.\n<\/p>\nDefense Wins It<\/h2>\n
\nDarius Davis recorded one. At minimum, 18 points were erased \u2014 enough to completely swing
\nthe outcome in the Warhawks\u2019 favor.\n<\/p>\nClosing Time<\/h2>\n
\nand knocked down the final two free throws to ice the game. Moss and Davis each added 17
\npoints, combining for eight free throws in the closing minutes.\n<\/p>\nUp Next<\/h3>\n
\n8 p.m.<\/strong> Only one of the final five games will be at home as the Spartans prepare for a strong
