Bio
Chris Brooks is a class of 2000 graduate of Ellison High School, where he began his varsity track and field journey as a freshman and quickly established himself as a versatile and dynamic athlete. By his senior year, he earned Jumper of the Year honors and received the High-Point Individual award on multiple occasions, recognizing his consistent excellence and scoring impact across meets.
During his high school career, Brooks competed at a high level in five individual events and two relays, including the 100m, 200m, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, 4x100m relay, and 4x200m relay. His personal bests include 10.62 in the 100m, 21.73 in the 200m, a 24’1” long jump, a 47’4” triple jump, and a 15’ pole vault demonstrating a rare combination of speed, power, and technical skill.
After graduation, Brooks chose to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps rather than pursuing a collegiate track career. His time in the Marines helped shape the discipline, leadership, and work ethic that now define his coaching philosophy.
As a coach, Chris has trained and developed some of the fastest young athletes out of Killeen, Texas through the “I-Train U Elite” track club, also known as “The Elite.” He is known for his focus on speed development, technical precision, and building a strong competitive mindset in his athletes.
Coach Brooks is excited to continue his coaching journey as the Assistant Speed and Jumps Coach for the CCCTX Spartans, where he is committed to developing the next generation of athletes both on and off the track.
